Revit, a BIM software, is used by architects, engineers, and contractors to gather and link data on the design, construction, and operation of a building to create a unified, 3D model.

AIA Cincinnati’s Academy is hosting a three-part series on Revit for Advanced users this September, October, and November.

The Revit Academy will be held on Zoom. Participants must have two monitors for the program—one to watch the instructor’s demonstration and a second to work on the provided model.

Advanced Revit Series Dates

September 14: A More In-depth look at Families and their Uses

This session will continue the placement of various family types in the model as well as ways to manipulate the information for custom uses.

October 12: Document Set Creation in Revit

This session will show how to create sheets and documents sets.

November 9: Using Annotation and other Drafting Tools in Revit

In this session, users will learn the basics of 2d annotation and linework in Revit, as well as detail and section completion.

Chanté Bright

Chanté Bright, an architectural designer and instructor specializing in BIM design with Revit, will lead the Revit Academy sessions.

Throughout her career, Chanté has worked for a variety of different design firms. She boasts experience in retail, residential, commercial, and institutional design. Chanté provides design assistance and technical drafting on many projects, but specializes in BIM design through Autodesk Revit and other graphic manipulation software.
