Program Overview
This seminar explores how different saw cuts will affect the appearance of wood flooring. Architect and design professionals will become more familiar with the different sawing methods available in an effort to properly specify the material that will best meet their client expectations.
This lunch & learn is presented by Jessica Hickman Fresch, Allegheny Mountain Hardwood Flooring, the fourth generation working for a family business located in Northwestern Pennsylvania, home of the world's highest quality red oak, white oak, and cherry timber. They are 100% FSC certified; manage their own forests, operate their sawmill and dry kilns, and mill award-winning flooring. They have been featured on This Old House, HGTV, and The Wall Street Journal. Their flooring is in many notable homes and commercial locations across the country.
They specialize in Rift & Quarter Sawn and Live Sawn Flooring. In this course, she will go over how the various cuts change the appearance and performance of the floors. She will also discuss the sustainability and health benefits of using real wood in your projects.
Presented by AIA Cincinnati Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN).
