Program Overview

Cincinnati Public Radio (CPR) building features mass timber and daylighting to create a welcoming and sustainable broadcasting facility. 

The building design demonstrates welfare for the environment through sustainable design, including the pursuit of LEED Gold.  The choice of mass timber was driven by CPR’s desire for the extensive use of a biophilic material. Design of the building was strongly influenced by the occupants’ desire for daylighting, views and good indoor air quality. As a news organization, physical security for the staff was a very high priority and played an important role in the organization of the building.

This tour, led by emersion DESIGN, will focus on how sustainable features were incorporated into the overall structure with a special emphasis on how the building is sealed and the pressure testing data.
