Program Overview
Join Ohio’s Small Firm Exchange (SFx) representative Sarah Kleiner, AIA for a virtual SFx coffee chat where small firm leaders can engage with one another, discuss issues facing small firms today, and see what the AIA can do to support Ohio’s small firms. Virtual chats will take place 8:30-9 am monthly even months on the third Thursday. Virtual conversations in odd months on the third Tuesday explore a specific topic for an hour.
On July 16, join us for SFx Conversation - Health Insurance. Small firm owners and employees need and want health insurance, but group plans are a challenge for small firms. Learn more about health insurance for small firms from Al Harmon of Health Insurance Strategies.
Al served 11 years in the United States Air Force in the Civil Engineering Prime Beef Squadron. After separation from the Air Force he has worked for the past 32 years in the various fields in the financial services industry in the areas of management, education and sales. He’s been an agent, financial advisor, loan officer and a certified teacher for the Ohio Department of Insurance. Currently he is a broker and the owner of a health insurance agency.
The mission of the Small Firm Exchange (SFx) is to advance the mutual interests of architects practicing in small firms. SFx representatives connect small firm leaders in their local and state components to the national organization. AIA members practicing in small firms are encouraged to reach out to Sarah to discuss how the AIA could better support their practice.
Sarah is a principal at Envisage Architecture LLC, in Cincinnati, a firm she co-founded in 2016. They have seven employees that range from part-time to full-time.
