CCC's work at Miami Valley Christian Academy (MCVA) reflects an important part of the company's mission: build spaces that serve generations to come. As construction progresses on the new MVCA High School building project, our team at CCC is proud to help bring this important community investment to life. While cranes, concrete, and steel are the visible signs of progress, the foundation for a successful project was established long before construction began through close coordination between the owner, architects, engineers, and construction team.

Building the Future Through Education

Founded in 1996 to provide another Christian education option for Greater Cincinnati, Miami Valley Christian Academy began humbly with only 11 kindergarten and first-grade students. Its reputation has grown as enrollment reflects.  MVCA now serves 173 preschoolers and over 1,200 PreK-12th grade students. The nondenominational school serves children from 178 church communities across the city.

CCC has previously worked with MVCA to construct a building in 2005 that would serve as a high-school expansion on its Newtown campus. A second 21,750-sq.-ft., two-story building addition project was completed during the summer of 2024.  This helped with continued growth for the school and student enrollment.   

Jill Beasley serves as MVCA’s Advancement Director, which encompasses marketing, donor relations, fundraising, and on-campus events.  She noted the school’s growth and the importance of construction they are currently undertaking for the new school. 

“Our school has been exceeding enrollment numbers of 100 students in various grade levels,” she said. “We are grateful for the growth and recognized it was definitely time to expand beyond our current campus.”

MVCA began partnering with Cincinnati Commercial Contracting during the planning and design phase in 2025. Construction on the expansion of the new high school campus began February 6 of this year. The new high school will be located at 8550 Broadwell Road in Newtown, approximately three miles away from the original MVCA campus.

The new, 82,500-sq.-ft. MVCA high-school campus, which will be completed in June 2027 at a cost of approximately $22 million, will contain 27 classrooms, dedicated space for science and arts education, conference rooms, and athletic facilities. 

In addition to optimizing classroom space, Beasley noted the need for upgraded science labs to enhance the school’s educational experience, as well as creating impactful community spaces such as its gymnasium and its chapel, a centerpiece as a weekly gathering place for MVCA students. The new school will enable MVCA to educate up to 125 students per graduating class, Beasley said.

Educational construction requires thoughtful coordination, proactive communication, and a commitment to minimizing disruptions while maintaining the highest quality standards. Throughout the project, CCC partnered closely with school leadership to ensure the finished building reflected the academy's long-term vision.

Key MVCA high-school building amenities include a state-of-the-art gymnasium with three basketball and volleyball playing surfaces and a capacity for assemblies up to 1,000. Additionally, three thoroughly equipped laboratories and spacious welcoming entranceways provide innovative and common spaces to help students, parents, and staff engage and connect.
