Cincinnati Canstruction is part of an international design and construction industry community service project to benefit local food banks.
Architects, engineers, designers, and contractors compete to design and build fantastic giant-sized structures made entirely out of canned foods. The structures are on public view as a giant art exhibit. At the close of the competition, all of the food used in the structures is donated to the local food bank for distribution. This year, all structures will be built and available for viewing at Freestore Foodbank's Community and Resource Distribution Center. Tickets are free to tour the structures.
Since 1997, through the generosity of volunteers and members of our local community, Cincinnati Canstruction has contributed 1,224,000 pounds of food to the Freestore Foodbank, enough to provide nearly 3.7 million meals to our hungry tristate neighbors.
