Program Overview
Join AIA Cincinnati COTE for an inside look at the regenerative infrastructure powering the "Greenest Zoo in America." Starting beneath the main entry’s landmark solar canopy, we will explore the on-site renewable energy systems that set the tone for the campus before tracing the stormwater capture and reuse strategies integrated throughout the Africa Exhibits. The tour culminates at the Painted Dog Exhibit—celebrating 10 years of Living Building Challenge Petal Certification. Here, we will dig into the realities of post-occupancy performance, long-term envelope and systems maintenance, and the operational lessons learned a decade after achieving one of architecture’s most demanding sustainability benchmarks.
Registration for this program is limited. Fees will be donated to the Cincinnati Zoo.
