Program Overview

This course focuses on the climate challenges facing our world, the impact of the building industry on the environment, and addressing embodied carbon reduction through responsible material selection and specification. Participants of this course will be provided an overview of aluminum production and recycling processes, the significant progress made by the aluminum industry to reduce the carbon footprint associated with aluminum production, and how aluminum building products are helping to provide a sustainable future.

Participants will explore ways aluminum products are incorporated in the built environment to facilitate well-being while meeting sustainability goals as set forth in such programs as The Materials Checklist, USGBC LEED, and The Living Building Challenge.
