Inspired People – Creative Design – Transforming Communities
For over 30 years, The Kleingers Group has been a driving force in community development across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Our unique blend of civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services combines local expertise with regional resources, providing unmatched leadership in complex design projects. We’ve shaped landscapes and built lasting relationships, client satisfaction, and outstanding service delivery.
Our integrated team of professionals includes landscape architects, civil engineers, transportation engineers, athletic design specialists, and surveyors. This allows us to take a holistic approach to every project, and tackle a wide range of markets, from parks, education, and healthcare to retail, industrial, government, sports, and more.
At the heart of our success is our Landscape Architecture Studio, led by Lynne Nischwitz, PLA, ASLA, CLARB. We’ve earned a reputation for innovative problem-solving and seamless collaboration with architects to create visionary landscapes. Our work blends high design, sustainability, recreation, and education principles to connect people with their environment.
Our team recently completed the landscape architecture design for the Kellogg Avenue and I-275 Beautification project, which serves as a gateway into Anderson Township and the City of Cincinnati. The design is a catalyst for how interchanges are seen nationally. The design vision celebrates Anderson Township's heritage of historic orchards and its connection to the Ohio River through powerful straight lines, reminiscent of orchards, and curvilinear forms, representing the river waves, to reinforce this cultural significance. Sustainability is paramount to the design with the central loop of the interchange infield area imbued with native wildflowers that attract birds and pollinators. A solar panel within the landscape powers blue-lit LED lighting for the decorative gateway signage with wave patterns mimicking the river’s flow. The underside of the bridge is also illuminated with programmable lighting for special events. The colorful landscape design and decorative concrete curvilinear and linear banding provide four-season interest and functional stormwater management. This project revitalizes the township’s entrance into a welcoming and attractive gateway, blending functionality with aesthetics to honor the area's history and natural environment.
Our expertise is also visible throughout downtown Cincinnati, where we have played a role in transforming the city’s core on iconic spaces such as:
The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame
Smale Riverfront Park Outdoor Music Venue
Paycor Stadium New Pedestrian Entrance and Field
University of Cincinnati Calhoun South Gateway
Andrew J. Brady Icon Music Center
FC Cincinnati TQL Stadium
Historic Union Terminal
Ronald McDonald House
From reimagining streetscapes and the downtown urban realm to designing world-class sports facilities, from creating healing gardens for healthcare campuses to developing master plans and plazas for educational institutions, Kleingers continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in design and engineering. With each project, we're crafting the backdrop for community life, fostering human connections, and creating sustainable environments where people can thrive.
