How has AIA membership benefited you?
AIA membership validates my credentials and standing on my role as a Construction Project Manager and owner representative also provides a sense of belonging to the professional community.
What AIA Cincinnati program are you looking forward to most in 2024?
I’m looking forward to the Ohio Small Firm exchange March conversation on partnering with larger firms to leverage MBE/WBE, the May Brett Randall Jones lecture and SFx owners rep programs. Also anticipating programs later this year including factory and construction site tours, Academy programs on working with municipal building departments and improving communication with contractors. The June 26 golf scramble and autumn sporting clays events are also highlights.

How has AIA membership benefited you?
As a member of the AIA, I've had the chance to explore and engage with a wider spectrum of the architecture profession beyond the boundaries of my firm, particularly within the specialized industrial sector where I have predominantly focused my career. AIA has facilitated not only networking opportunities with fellow architects and local community members but has also provided exposure to diverse perspectives and innovative ideas within the architecture community. AIA has also provided resources to allow me the opportunity to identify ways to connect and mentor aspiring architects while concurrently receiving support in developing my own professional career.
What AIA Cincinnati program are you looking forward to most in 2024?
I enjoy the architectural tours that are organized by AIA Cincinnati. Any time I can take advantage of seeing a construction site or project that is outside my area of expertise is always intriguing to see.
Amber Wasinski, AIA, NCIDQ

What is the biggest value you see in AIA membership?
AIA has been invaluable in providing opportunities to connect with other passionate people both within the architecture profession and in our community. The most exciting part about building those relationships is being able to contribute to positive action within our city. There is also huge value in the advocacy work that often goes on behind the scenes. Throughout the year, and especially each March on AIA Ohio’s Statehouse Day, our members advocate for key issues affecting our discipline and the built environment.
What AIA Cincinnati event/program/activity/thing are you looking forward to most in 2024?
The VISION lectures provide a monthly dose of inspiration that I always look forward to. We have a great lineup this year with Christian Solorio up next on February 22.
