Of your recent projects, which is your favorite and why?

It’s difficult to narrow down a single favorite project, but one I’m especially proud of is the Moore-Knight House. This historic home, located in Cincinnati’s Price Hill neighborhood, presented a unique opportunity to thoughtfully balance preservation and transformation. The owners were looking to both renovate the existing historic structure and add new square footage, and our solution was to connect the addition through an almost all-glass gallery that bridges the old and the new. This approach allowed the historic home’s presence and character to remain fully intact, while clearly expressing the contemporary intervention in a respectful and intentional way.

What inspires you?

I’m inspired by the challenge of creating residential spaces that genuinely support the people who live in them. I’m deeply passionate about ergonomic, human-centered design and the way thoughtful planning can improve comfort, usability, and quality of life. Whether I’m working on a custom single-family home or a for-rent multi-family building, my goal is to create spaces that feel intuitive, welcoming, and comfortable for a wide range of users, homes that not only function well, but truly feel good to live in.

What does the CRANawards committee do?

The CRANawards committee oversees the annual awards program celebrating excellence in residential architecture in Cincinnati. The committee is responsible for soliciting project submissions, assembling and coordinating the awards jury, securing sponsorships from industry partners, and organizing the awards banquet. Since its founding in 2009, the CRANawards have played a key role in elevating awareness and recognition of the high-quality work produced by residential architects in the Cincinnati region. As a unique program among CRAN chapters nationwide, we are proud to continue this tradition

How can AIA Cincinnati members get involved with your committee?
