Annika Heminger, AIA

Architect

Burgess & Niple

Annika is a recently Registered Architect in the state of Ohio and practices at Burgess & Niple. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in December 2022 and has worked at B&N since January 2023. While working full time at Burgess & Niple, she completed her Master of Architecture at Boston Architectural College in May 2025. Her graduate thesis centered around the idea that Architecture can act as a form of therapy for adults with visual impairments. This reflects her dedication to advancing accessibility and exploring how the built environment can serve as a source of healing and empowerment.

Being a Cincinnati transplant, Annika is always looking to learn more about the city and seeking out new opportunities to get involved in the community. In the coming months she will be working with DesignLab in a classroom at Bethel-Tate Middle School, introducing students to the concepts behind Architecture and design. Beyond her professional work, she volunteers with the League for Animal Welfare where she assists with adoption events, socializes with shelter animals, and participates in a field trip program that allows dogs to spend time outside of the shelter.

Through both her academic research and professional practice, Annika brings curiosity, empathy, and dedication to every project she undertakes, viewing architecture not only as a career but as a means to positively shape lives and communities.
