Program Overview
Architecture is a popular subject for photography but capturing the beauty of a building, or its details, can be challenging.
AIA Cincinnati hosts an Architecture Photo Safari to help participants learn strategies for taking share-worthy photos of buildings in Over-the-Rhine. The program starts with a one-hour focused walk with instruction on how to capture architectural details. Then participants are encouraged to stay for an additional thirty minutes to experience the “golden hour” when the sunset provides ideal lighting for exterior photography.
Our instructor, Mark Bealer is a co-owner of Studio 66 LLC, a Cincinnati-based portrait and commercial photography business. His specialty is architectural and corporate photography. In addition to his studio work, Bealer has taught photography as an adjunct instructor at Antonelli College.
No experience is required for this program and participants may use any camera system, including cell phones. The walk starts at 1308 Race Street, Cincinnati. In the event of inclement weather, this event may be postponed or canceled. Participants will be alerted via email in the morning of October 8 if there are any changes.
Registration deadline is October 6. Space is limited to ten participants to ensure an interactive and engaging session.
