Program Overview

In December 2021, the Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission began the process of creating a model zoning code that could be adopted by interested jurisdictions. Together with a steering committee and stakeholders, a model code was created and launched earlier this year to provide a new, modern zoning code that allows for consistency between jurisdictions and provides specific tailored options that reflect each community’s character and vision. The new code is divided into three broad sections: 

• Administration and Procedures

• Zoning Districts and Development Standards

• A la Carte Development Standards

Staff from the Hamilton County Planning + Development Department will provide an overview of the code and guidance for architects during this in-person session.
