The Kleingers Group’s Landscape Architecture (LA) Studio has been on an exciting journey of transitioning downtown Cincinnati into a vibrant hub for culture, community, work, living, and recreation.

Explore our extensive portfolio on our website, where our LA Studio truly shines under the visionary leadership of Lynne Nischwitz, PLA, ASLA, CLARB. Lynne and her team have earned a reputation for bringing visionary concepts and innovative problem-solving to their client-focused, collaborative process.

High design, sustainability, recreation, and education principles connect people and are frequent themes in the team's city-core design portfolio, streetscapes, parks, and spaces. Lynne and her talented team of landscape architects and designers ensure that outdoor hardscape and landscape spaces seamlessly blend with building architecture while creating aesthetically pleasing, easily accessible, and interactive experiences.

The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame is the newest addition to The Banks, nestled along the Ohio River in the heart of Downtown Cincinnati. It was critical for the Walk to seamlessly integrate with Smale Riverfront Park, becoming a harmonious extension of The Banks' contextual fabric. The park's design exudes a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic. The monochromatic black granite hardscape contrasts with vibrant plantings and artfully reflects the nightly light displays. While complementing The Bank's surrounding context, it maintains a unique and captivating identity. Its immersive experiences, evocative light shows, and soulful soundtrack create a living testament to the power of music and the indelible mark that local black musicians have had on the music industry and the entire world.

The plant selections were prioritized to provide year-round interest, featuring unique and native plants. The diverse plant community includes groundcovers, bulbs, grasses, perennials, shrubs, and trees artfully massed in small groupings, creating a serene natural meadow. This dynamic landscape hosts buzzing pollinators and dancing ornamental grasses.

The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, an Art Deco style structure, underwent renovations focused on repairing and replacing deteriorating parts of this National Historic Landmark. The Kleingers Group LA Studio designed renovations for the entry plaza, keeping with the important historical design. The renovation consisted of designing intricate paving patterns and colors, limestone steps, and slabs. A considerable portion of the entry plaza including hardscape, limestone walls, pavements, and plantings is all on the structure. New shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, and annuals modernize and beautify the space.

The University of Cincinnati Indoor Practice Facility is a game-changer for the athletic campus, ushering in a new era of sports excellence. This visionary design not only reimagines Champions Way as a vibrant, pedestrian-only thoroughfare but also seamlessly integrates with existing athletic facilities. To maximize the utility of this space, innovative features like seat walls and inviting lawn terraces have been incorporated. These elements cascade down the western edge of the new building, capitalizing on the natural slope from north to south. Providing versatile seating arrangements and dynamic gathering spots where fans and athletes can come together to enjoy.

The Kleingers Group’s Landscape Architecture Studio has played a pivotal role in transforming downtown Cincinnati into a thriving center for culture, community, work, and recreation. With a commitment to high design, sustainability, and community connectivity, Lynne and her dedicated team have left an indelible mark on the city's landscape. Their projects, from the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame to the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal and the University of Cincinnati Indoor Practice Facility, reflect their visionary approach and unwavering dedication. We look forward to continuing our journey of shaping vibrant and sustainable urban environments for years to come.
