Public Service Director

The City of Kettering (pop. 58,000) seeks a Registered Architect, Registered Professional Engineer or other closely related professional to serve in a combined role of managing the operation of the City’s Facilities Department and the Streets Department. The operation of the City’s Facilities Department includes all aspects of the design, construction, renovation, maintenance and operation of buildings owned and used by Kettering’s Citizens and their municipal government. Must perform tasks including energy cost analysis, long range capital planning, ADA, OSHA and other Code compliance. The Public Service Director also supervises the Street Maintenance Superintendent with responsibilities for street and storm sewer maintenance, snow removal, leaf pick-up and other related tasks. The combined full-time staff of these two departments is 75 personnel requiring exceptional organizational and management skills. The Director plays an active role in advising the City’s Economic Development Team in matters pertaining to commercial development. Management of these and other tasks is aimed at providing exceptional services to Kettering’s Citizens. Salary range to $103,230 plus excellent benefits.
