Associate Director of Planning & Design (28UC0490)

The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for an Associate Director of Planning & Design. The successful candidate will supervise the long range planning studies and feasibility studies for various units on campus; review building programs and recommend planning concepts that lead to capital projects; participate in the selection of architects and other design consultants; participate in the review and approval of space allocations; consult with and coordinate with the Facilities staff and construction staff on projects and represent the department in a variety of committees.

 

Characteristics include the ability to implement the plan for the department under the direction of the AVP; Ability to communicate to a variety of administrative and academic audiences; Ability to represent the department on campus at the direction of the AVP; Understanding of state capital related policies and procedures; Working knowledge of public higher education; Capability of prioritizing given multiple tasks and directions; Working on Planning Projects as assigned.

 

Min. Quals.: A bachelor's degree in architecture or related field with 7 yrs. exp. Exp. must be in architecture and planning for higher education projects or campus planning projects and include at least 3 yrs. exp.; valid license in architecture.

 

The ideal candidate will have a masters degree and NCARB record. Demonstrated knowledge in capital planning and programming in a complex environment, design and construction along with an understanding of applicable state regulations is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD software applications required. The individual selected will work with the AVP of Planning + Design + Construction and assist with implementing the departmental goals and objectives.
